NIHAL FONSEKA – international tenor Nihal was a star athlete and boxer at St. Peter’s College Colombo in the 50s. He always won the Pole Vault event at the sports meet. Nihal took the leading role iunder Douglas Ferdinand’s direction in “Trial by Jury” opera presented by SPC. It was a huge success. Nihal was Sri Lanka’s leading tenor who turned international in the sixties going forward. Immigrating to Canada in the late sixties, Nihal has lived in Mississauga, a suburb of Toronto.
