Ingredients:
- 500 grams of penne pasta
- 10 tomatoes
- 2 onions
- 1 red bell pepper
- 1 green bell pepper
- 10 cloves of garlic
- 200 grams of chicken
- 200 grams of tomato sauce
- 2 tablespoons pepper powder
- 1/2 cup bread flour
- 100 grams butter
- 2 cups milk
- Salt to taste
- Olive oil or vegetable oil (about 4 tablespoons)
- Grated mozzarella cheese (or any other type of cheese)
- Optional: oregano for seasoning
Instructions:
- Cook the Pasta:
- Boil the pasta in salted water with 1 tablespoon of oil until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- Prepare the Chicken:
- Cut the chicken into large squares and set aside.
- Make Tomato Puree:
- Remove the seeds from the tomatoes, blend them into a puree, strain, and cook on the stove until it thickens. Set aside.
- Prepare Vegetables:
- Chop the garlic finely.
- Finely chop the onions.
- Cut the bell peppers into small squares.
- Cook the Vegetables and Chicken:
- Heat 4 tablespoons of olive oil or vegetable oil in a large pan.
- Add the onions and sauté until fragrant.
- Add the chopped garlic and sauté briefly.
- Add the chicken pieces and mix well.
- Add the red and green bell peppers.
- Add 2 tablespoons of pepper powder and salt to taste.
- Add the prepared tomato puree and tomato sauce. Mix well and cook until it resembles a curry. Set aside.
- Make the White Sauce:
- In another pan, melt the butter.
- Add the bread flour and stir until combined.
- Gradually add the milk, stirring continuously until the sauce thickens.
- Season with pepper powder, salt, and oregano (if using). Remove from heat.
- Assemble the Pasta:
- In a large bowl, combine the boiled pasta, chicken mixture, and white sauce. Mix well.
- Bake the Pasta:
- Transfer the mixture to a baking dish.
- Top with grated mozzarella cheese (or any cheese you prefer).
- Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) for 40 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and golden.
This dish serves four people.
