I woke up to this wonderful news about our Antonian Rochana being picked to represent our National youth team. I have no doubt there will be more Antonians to follow in his footsteps as there is “Basketball Fever” in college as I understand. One court is not sufficient to satisfy the demand as there are many boys being left out of the college team after final selections. The decision to have a “half court” with a shooting board is a great idea to send up already trained boys to the upper school.

My personal congratulations to Rochana. As Senaka has mentioned, he has an uncanny resemblance to my late brother Prasanna (before he started growing his hair). I am sure Prasanna will be cheering him on from above. Prasanna told me a week before he passed “When I get well I want to go to college and help them with the BB project”. He must be happy with this news about Rochana within a short time after the new court was built.
Yes, thanks to Fr. Henry, Rohan Wijesinghe and others for making this happen.
