An Easy Sri Lankan Kavum recipe – By Nadeeka – eLanka
Ingredients:
- 2 cups of rice flour
- 1/2 cup of wheat flour
- 1 cup of jaggery (or brown sugar)
- 1 cup of thick coconut milk
- 1/2 teaspoon of salt
- Oil for deep-frying
Instructions:
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the rice flour, wheat flour, and salt. Gradually add the coconut milk while stirring the mixture until it forms a thick batter.
- Add the jaggery (or brown sugar) to the batter and mix well until it is completely dissolved.
- Heat the oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat.
- Using a spoon, drop small amounts of batter into the hot oil and deep-fry until golden brown. Be careful not to overcrowd the pan.
- Use a slotted spoon to remove the Kavum from the oil and place them on paper towels to drain excess oil.
