A NAME TO REMEMBER – by Des Kelly

Aishling Rafferty, a beautiful young Country Vocalist from Tipperary, Ireland has recorded a song not necessarily suited to her age, entitled ‘Darling, say you’ll love me when I’m old’, a song that was recorded quite a while back, by the Irish Duo Foster & Allen, if I remember this correctly.

It is definitely not because I am also part Irish, that I have handpicked this name to remember. Aishling came to my notice via the marvellous ‘You-tube’ channel that millions of people (like me), have come to depend on, for their daily entertainment. Especially for older folk everywhere, if there are no ‘platforms” such as Facebook (now META), there would certainly be no World.

Back to Aishling, you could throw away all your highly made-up, expensively dressed lasses who THINK they can sing. Aishling comes to us, as natural as a fresh, Spring day(complete with a little red-breasted Robin), looking so young and beautiful, she takes your breath away, especially when she starts to sing. Her voice is as lovely as she is, no shouting, screaming & garbled lyrics here. Every word of the song is crystal clear & old as the song is, it makes you want to hear it again, sung in the Aishling manner. The background picture is also simple. Shows who might have been her parents having a cup of tea in their Country home. I decided to therefore make this a very special ‘Kelly-Klassic’ and hope that everyone who shares this experience feel that AISHLING RAFFERTY IS A NAME TO REMEMBER”!!!.
