THOMIAN CAROL SERVICE 2015

A FESTIVAL OF NINE LESSONS AND CAROLS.

ALL SAINTS ANGLICAN CHURCH PARRAMATTA

SATURDAY 21ST November 2015 AT 6.30PM

The THOMIAN CAROL SERVICE  is a much anticipated event now in its 7th year. Thomian community together with the Sri Lankan community in Sydney will gather on SATURDAY 21ST NOVEMBER at ALL SAINTS ANGLICAN CHURCH PARRAMATTA

at 6.30pm to usher in the Advent season with a FESTIVAL OF NINE LESSONS AND CAROLS.

Vasantha Weerakoon a veteran and accomplished musician who has trained the choir for the past six years will lead and conduct the choir backed by the well known organist David Osborne. Whilst Rev Owen Goddard will preside the preacher will be Pastor Michael de Kretser who is an old boy of S.Thomas’ College in Sri Lanka, now a resident in Melbourne VIC.

The format of the service is the S. Thomas’ College Mt. Lavinia Sri Lanka Chapel model; much loved and durable. It is based on the form for the service of Nine Lessons and Carols, King’s College Cambridge, brought to Mt. Lavinia by its Chaplain Rev. Roy Yin in 1946. Since then the carol service has been held on the first Sunday in December in the College Chapel every year without a break.

This year the congregational Carols are well-loved ones whilst the ‘Choir only’ Carols are chosen for their content, in respect of both word and music.

The choir has practiced hard to make The “THOMIAN CAROL SERVICE 2015” a warm and memorable one.

The organizers extend a warm welcome to the public.
