This one of a kind free exhibition is an initiative of the Pink Sari Project led by the NSW Multicultural Health Communication Service (MHCS) in partnership with BreastScreen NSW and Refugee Health Service and funded by the Cancer Institute NSW which will feature portraits of 14 breast cancer survivors taken by 14 professional photographers from Indian and Sri Lankan backgrounds. The photographers have volunteered their time to address a “culture of silence” on breast cancer in the two communities which, according to the Cancer Institute NSW, have some of the lowest screening rates for breast cancer in the state.

As part of the exhibition, the personal stories of these brave survivors will also be presented to empower women from Indian and Sri Lankan communities to take charge of their health.

Please see attached photo exhibition poster and media release with all the information about the project, the breast cancer survivors and photographers involved in this Pink Sari Project event

It would be appreciated if you can please feature this unique event on your publications, programs, online and social media platforms. This initiative aims to serve as an inspiration to spread the importance of breast screening to save lives of women in all communities.

I am happy to organise interviews for you with the photographers, breast cancer survivors, breast screening experts and organisers. Please feel free to contact me on 02 8753 5006 or through email.

Thank you very much for your continuous support. We look forward to seeing you on Thursday 27 August 6.30 pm at the Blacktown Arts Centre.

Kind regards,

Jess
